Art That Lives
In Your Stay.
The makers behind the objects that make Bishop & Co. cottages extraordinary. Every piece has a story. Many are available for you to bring home.

Susan Bishop
Susan Bishop
Bishop & Company
Susan's assembled art practice began as an extension of her design sensibility — the belief that salvaged materials carry memory. Using reclaimed timber, wire, and found objects, she constructs instruments, figures, and abstract compositions that feel simultaneously ancient and alive. Her signature: the 'Bishop & Co.' mark etched into the wood itself.
Available: Original works displayed and for sale in all three cottages. Always taking orders.

Beauty in Stone
My love for dressing in fashion and the finishing touch of jewelry sparked a desire in me to make my own. When I fell in love with the unique character of beautiful gemstones, pearls and leather I immersed myself into learning techniques that would set my jewelry apart. Formally I have had careers in glass engraving and faux finishing, all experiences that fulfilled my love for art, design, fashion and hands on craftsmanship! For over 10 years now I have enjoyed seeing happy customers excited and happy to wear jewelry from my collections.
Available: Displayed in the master suite. By appointment for custom pieces.

Bob Jack
Bob Jack
Bob Jack Woodcraft
An engineer by profession but a woodworker by passion, Bob Jack has been crafting wood for almost 40 years. Largely self-taught, he enjoys both wood turning as well as traditional craft and furniture making. Turned items include bowls, pepper/salt mills, bottle stoppers, coffee scoops, and pens. Other craft items include kitchen goods such as magnetic knife blocks, cutting boards and pizza peels as well as wooden toys such as trains, trucks, and doll cradles. He has also made numerous more traditional furniture items such as custom cabinetry, tables, chairs, beds, night tables, and chests. In keeping with the "all things wood" theme, Bob also enjoys making hardwood moldings which he uses to make frames for custom framing of art and diplomas. Originally from West Virginia, Bob has resided in the hills of East Tennessee for nearly 39 years where he lives with his wife Laura. They are the proud parents of four married children and four grandchildren.
Available: Works displayed and for sale in all three Bishop & Co. cottages.

Kent Blazier
Kent Blazier
Woodturner
Kent began woodworking/woodturning during high school days. During his years of active Pediatric practice, he put these hobbies almost on idle. Recently with more time to devote to leisure activities he returned to the shop but has focused more on his work at the lathe. He uses primarily local hardwoods which he fashions into bowls and a variety of other small items, both as art forms and/or useful pieces. For years he exhibited at Saadeh Fine Art Gallery, 128 E Market Street, Kingsport, TN, at Dandridge General Store, Dandridge, TN, and Newbill Collection by The Sea, Seaside, FL, in addition to having done numerous commissioned pieces. Kent is a member of The American Association of Woodturners.
Available: Works available at THE CRUMBUM, Bakery Gallery Café, 123 E Market Street, Kingsport, TN. Custom commissions welcome.
